Archived the Trinity LTCL Recital (Violin & Viola)(distinction) and graduated from the
Hong Kong Baptist University Bachelor of Arts (hons) in Music Studies, majoring in violin
under Mr. Lam Sun Chun and Mr. Wong Wai Ming, Ricky Hui is now a Conductor/ Violin
& Viola Tutor in several secondary and primary schools in HK including TWGHs – Joint
Primary Schools String Orchestra & Tang Shiu Kin Primary School String Orchestra with
Wong Fut Nam College, Hong Kong True Light College, Maryknoll Convent School etc.

Since 1992, Hui has been actively participating in various music ensembles like the
Millennium Youth Orchestra MYO (Concertmaster) and HKBU Symphony Orchestra (2nd
Violin Principal). He was selected to join the concert tour in Europe 2012 by the Collegium
Musicum Hong Kong. In 2013, he performed {St. Saens Violin Concerto No.3, Op.61} with
MYO in Hong Kong Culture Centre.

In addition, he was invited to record violin solos in both the HK movies and 2010&2013. Hui
plays music in a wide range of instruments. He obtained G.8 in Theory, Drums, Electric Bass
guitar and Classical guitar. And he was awarded merit prizes (Tremolo Open) in both 5th
Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival 2004 and 1st Hong Kong Harmonica Festival 2003.
Recently, he is a core member of both Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade(Bag Piper)
and Hong Kong Auxiliary Medical Service ( Saxophonist).

畢業於香港浸會大學音樂系，主修小提琴，並以優異成績考獲倫敦聖三一音樂學院小
提琴及中提琴演奏文憑（LTCL）。許氏現時任教的學校包括：東華三院聯校小學及東
華三院鄧肇堅小學（弦樂團指揮／小提琴導師），香港真光書院（管弦樂團指揮／小
提琴導師），東華三院黃笏南中學、東華三院馬錦燦紀念小學及瑪利諾修院學校（小
提琴／中提琴導師）。
許氏活躍於多個管弦樂團，早於1994年已隨靈糧幼稚園校友管弦樂團赴北京少年文化
宮交流，近年更隨香港巴洛克室樂團遠赴德國、捷克及奧地利演出。許氏現為新世紀
青年管弦樂團團長，曾在2013年於香港文化中心音樂廳獨奏《聖桑第三號小提琴協奏
曲》。
於2010及2013年，分別獲邀為電影「葉問前傳」及「葉問– 終極一戰」灌錄小提琴獨
奏，深獲好評。 除小提琴及中提琴演奏外，亦熱衷於其他器樂演奏，在爵士鼓、古典
結他及電低音結他均有涉獵，並考獲八級。此外，他曾贏得第五屆亞太口琴節及第一
屆香港口琴節複音口琴公開賽優異獎。 2016年，許氏先後成為醫療輔助隊樂隊（高音
薩克斯風／電低音結他）和香港聖約翰救傷隊樂隊樂手（風笛），用不同的音樂元素
，拉近人與人之間的距離。
